So Far the Best Posted by

Excellent RAW rendition. The de-noising is amazing. I’ve been working on 50MB RAW files from a Nikon D810 with no issues, not one crash or bug noticed so far and the underexposed photos are coming out great! This is also the first real Photos extension app that I’ve seen. The extension is a full featured version of Luminar, so for all those folks complaining about not having a library, you do have one. It’s called Photos. Luminar opens RAW from Photos beautifully. It automatically de-noises, but if you want more you’ll have to use the stand alone (or I just haven’t figure out how to do it from the extension). I am really enjoying going back through my Photos library and bringing new life to old raw files. I previously used lightroom (too expensive and clunky) and affinity (too confusing) and this blows them away. I am producing much better and more lively edits than I did with those apps. Very happy!

Wonderful new photo editer Posted by

Refreshing new approach. Beautiful, easy interface. Moving from Photoshop Elements. I use Adobe Bridge (free) for my initial organizing and browsing - Batch file names, rating, deleting. My file management system is to use folders and subfolders stored on Mac with copy on Portable Hard Drive. That way my images are not tied to ever changing third party applications. I don't need the complexity of Lightroom. I search by key words in file name. Appreciate creating custom workspaces with filters most used. Sliders allow quick and smooth adjustments. Like the icon for 100% view, important in sharpening. This app does everything I have previously done in Photoshop Elements but simpler to use and fun to work with its beautiful interface.

LOVE this new photo editing software for my Mac. I am a hobbyist photographer and have a long haired black Shih Tzu that I have struggled for two years to find a camera or editing software that will allow the detail to show up in his photos. He was a black blob in an otherwise good photo. I have only had Luminar for a week and already it is so easy for me to bring his photo into Luminar, use just a few tools and export a beautiful photo. Your video tutorials are so informational and clear. And everything works as it should.

Luminar is the BEST photo-editing software for Mac! Posted by

Just downloaded and tried applying various preset filters to one of my photos—amazing improvement in clarity, color, etc. (like the before/after split view). It’s so easy. These are no ordinary filters—they are professional, and you can adjust the amount for a natural enhancement. Am looking forward to discovering many other effective ways I can improve my photos. Get Luminar—it’s worth it. Better (and easier) than the rest.

Purchased today in its first offering. An awesome image editor, especially with loading RAW images. A dark image is converted into an unbelievable one which appears as if you used the correct exposure all along! I have utilized almost all the MacPhun programs and they are superb for what they are meant to process. I use Topaz software for most of my photo processing, but Luminar will be my go-to program for initial RAW conversion.

great software Posted by

i have all of Mcphun’s programs on the Mac App store and i love them all. I use Aurora most of the time followed by Intensify but this has the same feel as both of those programs, but better overall. more control and streamlined way of making adjustents and more in depth but not too confusing.this will now be my main editing program. if you like any of their other software programs then youll no doubt enjoy this one more.

New version! Posted by

Now I wish I could use it also on my PC at home. It is great on the Mac and works like a charm. Real Photoshop for photographers without clunky UI and with the necessary tools. I really like the workspace approach and the new Golden Hour filter.

Almost there Posted by

I would have given it five stars if only it had a library feature for building albums, etc. Still hoping for something other than iPhoto to transition from Aperture…. Please build this feature into the next update for Luminar….

A nice addition to the photo editing arsenal Posted by

A very good initial release, with many interesting presets. One feature I would like to see in the next release is the addition of corresponding crop restraints, e.g., 2:3 in addition to 3:2.

Pretty good application for my photos Posted by

I love this app expecially noise reduction. Lots of presets suit me very well. Also polarize filter makes sky perfect.

My first purchase from Macphun and i am very happy so far, expecting lot of exciting updates and support in future...

Luminar should tell all potential buyers it makes file Huge! by Xxyzmtz 2016-11-29

The filters and edits look cool until you realize that there’s no practical use to all the edits because a file that starts out less 170k will become at least 1.3MB when you apply even one filter or edit and export/save with that change. So, unless it is to admire your own work on only your own screen, there is practically no use creating any of the edits becaUSE YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO DAVE AND USE FOR WEB OR SHARE BECAUSE ITS TOO LARGE! Yikes! They should declare this up front. Maybe fine for print but this is a huge drawback!

Erase tool is useless by Dakka988 2016-12-20

Having attempted ad nauseam to effectively use the eraser on this program, I have given up in total frustration. The support menu was also of little help in solving the problem which was that when I attempted to remove something in the photo, it would erase 90% of what I wanted and then somehow add back a section from a part of the photo from another area. I could not get this to remedy itself. Disappointed!
